Craft and benefits

Classic is a smooth plane surface with no relief: the board is sanded flat so the grain stays in the plane of the plank. The floor reads calm—for formal rooms, quiet bedrooms, and any interior where you want a clean plane, not brushed texture or patina. Tint and oil or lacquer are chosen separately.

How it works

Classic processing means sanding and surface prep without removing soft fibers and without hand aging. Growth rings and pores read as pattern, but the finger does not catch grooves: the plane is even, care and later refinishing are simpler than with deep brushing. Do not confuse with oil or lacquer—that is the protective coat on top of classic—nor with brushing and patina, where relief and a live edge matter. On a sample you check batch tone, plank width, and calm seams.
